空，穴工也，指於穴內工作。間，日照門扉也，喻希望，起動。那麼〝空間〞的含義與一般的解釋如物理、航天、數學等等有著顯著的分別。〝坐穴起動〞有著強烈的修練氛圍，是精神意識層次的境界。因此那是形而上與形而下之別。
從物理上的理解，空間與真空不同。空間有著無數人類感應不到的東西，也許要憑某些特殊的儀器才能接收部分，而存於空間之物因時間而起變化，因此，空間與真空之別在於前者的可變性。
空間是存在的必然形式，時間是存在的表現形式。兩者併存才發生運動。然而，在精神意識領域之中，思想運動卻超越時空的限制，這亦肯定了創作思維是自由的事實。
